Leather Bead
Necklace
Materials
Needed:
First you must
determine the length of the necklace you want. Trace around the
following pattern on the wrong side of the leather and cut out.
Bend a six-inch
piece of wire in half as tightly as possible.

To form the bead,
take the base end of the triangle strip and hold it between the wire as
close to the bend end as possible.

Holding the wire tightly, roll
the strip of leather until about 1/2" remains. Keep the leather
tight as you wind it.
Apply a small amount of craft
glue to the end of the triangle and secure it in place. Slide the
bead from the wire and allow it to dry.
String the beads on nylon cord,
dental floss, bead wire, or bead string. If you like, you may
alternate the leather beads with complementary decorative beads from a
craft shop. If the necklace is not long enough to slip over your
head, you may need to purchase a clasp from the craft store as well.
