CRAFTS FOR KIDS
Children love to be busy making things, pretending to do
things Mommy and Daddy do, and love to be praised for accomplishments.
The purpose of this class is to give you a collection of ideas
for projects that children can make with your help, or items they can play with
by themselves, while you are busy doing your regular work.
In addition to "playtime" projects, don't forget
that they really would like to help you fold clothes and put them away, wash
dishes, put away groceries, dust, vacuum, etc. Of course, it will take a
little longer to do these chores when the children are "helping", and
you may have to re-do some things, but you'll be teaching some very important
things to the child. But the very best part of letting the children
"help" you with chores is the close relationship that will develop
between you and your child. This is the time you can talk to them, let
them know that you're proud of their accomplishments and that they are good
helpers, etc. This is the beginning of teaching the child to feel good
about himself or herself, that they are loved, etc.
Crafts for Kids gives you ideas for projects for small
children from ages 2 to 5 -- and of course, the difficulty of the projects will
be determined by how far advanced your child is. Some children, at age
three are doing things that other children are not doing until nearly 4 years
old.
Because the attention span of children is short, you will have
to vary the activities, but the ones in this class will give you rainy day play
ideas, or things to do if the child is not feeling very well, but not sick
enough to stay in bed.
